Is Good Enough… Good Enough? Part II

good enough

Well, I wasn’t really planning to carry this topic over from yesterday; however, a conversation earlier today made me want to expand on it.

I was asked the question whether I truly believed that a company could no longer make money marketing to the masses, lowering their service offering (quality), and competing on price.

The answer, of course, is that sure… it is possible… if you want to play that game. And though it is certainly more difficult… at least you won’t be lonely… there are always plenty of people to play with at the bottom. I’m just saying that for myself, I would work my tail off to become the worst of the very best, before I would ever settle for being the best of the worst.

You are free to choose your position.

Yes, you can make money… but I don’t believe you can live a truly meaningful life… a life of influence and impact… if you are trying to get away with the least amount of effort and service that is acceptable… in other words, good enough.

Of course, I could be wrong… but on this one… I don’t think so.

Questions:

Do you recognize the difference between poor, average, and exceptional service in your daily life? How about when traveling?

Are your customers any different?

What can you do in the next forty-eight hours, to make three of your clients think about you all weekend long?

I look forward to hearing from you.
